Interlaken’s Biennial Plowing Day & Country Fair Sept 21, 2024
The Town of Fayette’s Historical Society participated in this free family educational event, reminding us of the origins of our country fairs and agricultural societies. We had demonstrations on butter making, caking making, wool table display, and a baked goods fundraiser. We had animal exhibits of heritage breed sheep, a working oxen team, rabbits and chickens, as well as walked in the parade!
Family Day at Rose Hill Mansion Aug 10, 2024
The Fayette Historical Society had a wonderful display under a large tent with working steer, heritage breed sheep, wool display, chickens and rabbits. We had agricultural demonstrations of making butter, shrub, and 1-2-3-4 cake. We had a membership table, baked goods fundraiser, and barn yard games.
Annual Meeting & Elections: Sept 26, 2024
The Town of Fayette Historical Society will have its annual meeting and elections on Thursday September 26th at 630 pm at the Town of Fayette Office building at 1439 Yellow Tavern Road.
We will have an update on the activities and accomplishments of the society over the last 12 months and a time for refreshments and discussion afterwards.
We hope you will come out and join us for the evening!

The Fayette Historical Society will be there under a large tent with historical demonstrations, heritage breed animals, including oxen, games and a bake sale! Please come out and join us for this fun family oriented event!
2nd Annual Holiday Happening!
Join us on December 16, 2023 for our holiday fundraiser! Lots of cookies to buy by the pound, get tickets for a Christmas Tea party, win something at the raffle, and stay for a historical talk on the 1846 historical society building!

Merry Christmas 2022
“A Holiday Happening” sponsored by the Fayette Historical Society is tomorrow at the Fayette Firehouse! Dec 17, 2022 from 1-5pm
Please come out and join us for any part of the day. You can purchase Christmas cookies, participate in our fundraiser raffle (drawing at 3pm), and enjoy decorated Christmas trees in styles from days gone by. We will have a display of Christmas cards from the past! There will be crafts suitable for all ages and country dancing. If you have historic clothing be sure to wear it as it will fit perfectly with the day and the dance.
Cookies to buy by the pound:
Christmas sugar cookies, ginger snaps, molasses cookies, almond cookies, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, white chocolate cranberry, chocolate peppermint, double chocolate chip, brownies, peanut butter cookies, and more!
Raffles items to win:
Miranda Cheese Tray, home made wool wreath, jar of local honey, candles, New Lego toys sets, sketch books, kids fun pack, Scrabble game, crocheted scarf, corn heating bag, handmade earrings, pampered chef set and more…
Christmas Ornament crafts to make:
Gnome with wool beard, sheep with yarn, macramé Christmas trees, and popcorn sheep
Country Dances:
Hunting the Fox, Circassian Circle, The Gay Gordon, Bridge of Athlone. A group of 18 of us have met to practice these dances and we hope you will come and join in Saturday! They are easy and fun to learn and we are looking forward to teaching new dancers. Dancing starts at 330pm.
